Aurora exists to make the photography workflow faster, clearer, and more intentional, from the moment your RAW files leave the card to the moment you understand the story behind the shoot.
Before Aurora, importing and organizing RAW files often felt like a necessary but invisible part of the job: slow, repetitive, and disconnected from the actual work of photography. After a long shoot or event, you might have thousands of files, multiple cards, different cameras, and very little time to understand what really happened. The images were there, but the data behind them was usually buried.
Aurora started from a simple question: what if a RAW import could do more than just move files? What if it could also help photographers understand their own work, which cameras they used, which lenses mattered most, how many photos they shot, what settings defined the day, and how the entire shoot unfolded? What began as a small personal script eventually became a dedicated macOS app built to make RAW importing faster, more organized, and more insightful.
Aurora is built with a local-first philosophy. Your files, metadata, and shoot statistics stay on your Mac, giving you full control over your work and your workflow. No unnecessary cloud processing, no hidden uploads, no complicated systems, just a focused tool designed to help photographers move faster, stay organized, and understand their shoots with clarity.
